Moray Council is one of six local authorities chosen by the Scottish Government to test new approaches to after-school activities for primary pupils, with £1.6 million in funding.

Where

Programmes will start in Buckie and Forres, with lessons used to shape provision across Moray.

Who it is for

The pilot targets children and families experiencing, or at risk of, poverty. As well as safe, engaging activities in term time, it aims to help parents work more hours or take up training.

Minister’s view

Children’s Minister Siobhian Brown said every child deserves the chance to take part regardless of family income, and every parent deserves the chance to work.
