Several bridges across the Dnipro in Kyiv were closed on 2 October after Russian drone attacks, causing traffic chaos, DW reports.

The attacks

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the Southern Bridge, which carries road and metro traffic, was completely closed after being hit repeatedly over two days. One person was killed when a 25-storey building in the Darnytskyi district was struck.

Calls for sanctions

Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched 108 strike drones overnight, most of which were shot down. President Zelensky urged allies to tighten sanctions on components used in Russian drones.
