A woman who bred and sold puppies from her home in Frenchay, Bristol, without a licence has been ordered to pay £4,000, the BBC reports.
The case
She admitted an offence under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 at Bristol Magistrates’ Court. Puppies were advertised at around £1,400 each.

Buyers should always check a breeder is properly licensed. In Scotland, dog breeding licensing is set under separate Scottish regulations.
