Moray Council has approved a draft masterplan for Cooper Park in Elgin, allowing the Elgin Neighbourhood Board to move to public consultation.
How to have your say
The consultation runs from 12 October until 4 December 2026. It will include drop-in events, workshops with park user groups, school activities and online opportunities. The locations of some potential projects will be decided after hearing local feedback.
Funding background
Elgin was awarded £20 million by the UK Government in 2023 under its long-term plan for towns and is part of the first phase of the Pride in Place programme. Earlier engagement found strong public support for improvements to Cooper Park.
Work already under way
Levelling Up Fund money is being used to refurbish Cooper Park Pond and turn existing toilets into a café, toilets and a Changing Places facility. Moray Growth Deal funding is bringing nearby Grant Lodge back into use and refurbishing Elgin Town Hall.
