Two senior figures behind Aberdeen’s city centre regeneration are leaving the council, the Press and Journal reports.

Who is leaving

City regeneration executive director Gale Beattie is understood to be retiring. Chief strategic place planning officer David Dunne, who led the city centre bus gate scheme, is understood to have been appointed Scotland’s depute chief planner.

Leadership change

The departures follow former chief executive Angela Scott leaving to become principal of Dundee University. The council is due to assess candidates for chief executive next week.

Projects continue

Finance convener Alex McLellan said the council remains committed to regeneration, including Union Street and the beachfront.
